Thread
From The World Ends With You
The word thread refers to clothing in the game. Threads fill the same role as armor in fantasy RPGs.

[edit] Description
A thread is one of the item types.
A thread's in-game description consists of the following properties:
- No. (identification number)
- Name
- Stats
- BRV (Bravery required to equip)
- Type (there are six types: Headwear, Top, Bottom, Footwear, Accessory, and Top & Bottom combos)
- Info (flavor text; possibly gives useful hints
)
- Ability
- Acronym (e.g., Combo Branch +1)
- Explanation
[edit] Usage
Threads are obtained from shops.
A thread can be equipped by dragging it to one of the four equipment slots on a character, subject to the following restrictions:
- a character can equip no more than 4 threads
- a character cannot equip two threads of the same type
- a character cannot equip a thread whose bravery is above the character's bravery
- Note that wearing a Top & Bottom piece does not prevent you from wearing a single top or bottom piece along with it.
If a thread is not equipped, it has no effect on the game (however, an unequipped thread may still cause a shop owner to talk about it while unlocking its ability).
If a thread is equipped, the Stats and Ability activate according to the in-game description.
[edit] Stats
The stats change ATK, DEF, and HP. Stats are always active, as long as the thread is equipped. ATK ranges from -20 to +50, DEF from -50 to +50, and HP from -100 to +2000
All stats stack.
[edit] Abilities
The ability influences the gameplay as described in its in-game description; see Ability List.
If the ability caption says Ability Locked, it means the ability is hidden and inactive. Abilities are unlocked by befriending shop owners. This is done by buying items from the store's inventory; note that trading for quest items does not help when befriending.
[edit] Stacking
Abilities whose caption includes + or - (e.g., ATK +2) always stack (with each other, and with any other similar effects, such as from thread stats, from stickers, etc.).
Abilities whose caption does not include + or -, don't stack at all; the higher level supercedes the lower level
.
Abilities that apply to different characters coexist without affecting each other. This includes Regeneration, even though it applies to the shared HP pool (needs verification). In other words, if both characters carry Regeneration I ability, the HP will restore twice as fast.
