The World Ends With You

Different users have permission to access to different functions of the wiki, known as user rights. While anyone can do most things on the site such as reading and editing, even without a Fandom account, administrators, or sysops, are registered users that are trusted with access to additional functions to help moderate and manage the wiki to maintain quality. Users with additional user rights will always have tag(s) naming their role(s) next to their username on their profile.

Users with bureaucrat, administrator, and/or moderator rights on the wiki will automatically receive the corresponding role on the TWEWY Wiki Discord server if they are active on it: Conductor, Game Master, and/or Reaper. Users with multiple rights will have multiple roles, though their username will only take on the color of the highest role.

Admins[]

Who are this wiki's administrators?[]

Active admins are those who are still present and active on the wiki. Please contact these admins, as inactive admins have moved on from the wiki and are generally unlikely to reply.

Admins that list their Discord name in this table consent to also being contacted on Discord, both in the wiki server and in private messages, about wiki-related topics. As with messages on the wiki proper, please keep Discord messages relevant and civil and do not spam or harass these users.

Moderator abilities[]

There are three types of moderators: content moderators, discussions moderators, and chat moderators. There are currently no users with these roles specifically, though admins also have all of these roles as part of their admin responsibilities.

Content moderators help moderate comments and edits around the wiki and Discord server, undo vandalism, and can move, rename, delete/undelete, and protect pages and files.

Discussions moderators watch the comments on articles, user blogs, discussion forum, and wiki server (if they are also active on Discord) for spam and other content not allowed on the wiki, as well as help answer questions and settle disputes. They can close/reopen Message Wall threads, edit and delete/undelete messages posted by any other user on mainspace articles, and delete/undelete comments posted on a user blog. Discussions moderators are also chat moderators.

Chat moderators moderate the Live! Chat feature on the wiki, and can ban or unban users that are being disruptive or contributing content that is against the wiki code of conduct or Fandom TOS from the chat for periods of time.

Rollback[]

Users with the rollback ability can undo an edit not made in good faith in a single click. This ability is to be used with vandalism only; for undoing other previous edits that are not vandalism, the undo button is to be used.

Administrator abilities[]

In addition to all of the moderator abilities and responsibilities, administrators are looked to for help with problems and settling disputes. Admins are able to change the design of the wiki, changing features such as its background, wordmark (logo), favicon (tab icon), and custom CSS skin, and add/remove extensions for extra functionalities around the wiki.

Retired admins[]

Retired admins are those who have resigned or retired from the position of being an active admin, or have "disappeared" from the scheme without outright saying they are stepping down. These users no longer have admin abilities.

List of retired admins:

Retired admins still have a set amount of responsibility and powers:

  • Retired admins can delegate a dispute between the current active admins
  • Retired admins can clean up any kind of vandalism around the wiki
  • When all current active admins are not able to be on the wiki for a certain amount of time or more, retired admins may be asked to become temporary active admins if no other editor is found to become an appropriate-substitute admin
  • If any retired admin wants to change an admin-protected page, they must consult with a current admin before making the change
  • Retired admins may still give suggestions to the structure and plans of the wiki as if they are still admin members
  • If a retired admin wishes to "unretire," they must first inform a current active admin and get a confirmation before they resume action

Bureaucrat abilities[]

A bureaucrat can give bureaucrat, administrator, moderator, or rollback rights to users on any of the wiki(s) they have bureaucrat rights on, but can only revoke user rights below bureaucrat status. They can also block or unblock users.

Bureaucrat status can only be revoked by Fandom staff or by the bureaucrat themself.

Staff[]

Fandom staff members have full access to all wikis. They will be shown in Special:Listusers/staff on any wiki. Please use Special:Contact to contact Fandom staff.

Wiki Managers[]

Introduced on May 20, 2019, Wiki Managers are part-time Fandom staff that are assigned to specific wikis to help those needing editing or design help, but do not necessarily edit the wiki themselves. They are not a replacement for admins or other user right groups, but serve as a ready source of experienced help that also has a direct line of contact to full-time Fandom staff. For more information on Wiki Managers, please see the announcement about them.

This wiki's Wiki Manager is PsiSeveredHead.

Administrator guide[]

Becoming a mod, admin, or bureaucrat[]

The founder of a wiki, the person who first requested its creation, is automatically given administrator and bureaucrat access.

For any other user to become an administrator, someone with bureaucrat access must make them one. On larger wikis, there will usually be a community page for requests, with a page name such as "Request for adminship". On a smaller wiki, users may simply ask on the community portal or discussion forum, or ask a bureaucrat directly on their Message Wall.

In the event that there are no active bureaucrats, use the "requests for adminship" page to nominate users to become admins or bureaucrats. Once a community decision has been reached (or if there is no active community to debate the decision), please leave a message at the wiki adoption requests page and FANDOM staff can provide the rights.

How do I use administrator powers?[]

See Help:Administrators' how-to guide and Help:Best practices for administrators for guides and advice on using admin functions.

For bureaucrats, see Help:Bureaucrats' how-to guide.

What can administrators not do?[]

Administrators should not use their administrator powers to settle editing disputes; for example, to lock a page on a version they prefer in an editing dispute that isn't vandalism. Administrator powers should be used to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Ideally, an admin shouldn't be considered the person "in charge," but just someone who is trusted to have a few extra buttons and to use them for the benefit of the FANDOM community.
