Neku's two pins? Edit

Is it ever explained why Neku has two player pins?

SPOILERS! Neku's second Player Pin is a bit of a Chekhov's gun. Among the Player Pin's uses is that it protects the wearer from being scanned or imprinted--after killing him, Joshua gives an extra Player Pin to Neku to protect his mind from being tampered with by Kitaniji. Not knowing that he already has one, Kitaniji gives Neku a Player Pin as access to the Game. At the end of Week 3 it's revealed that the Player Pin cancels out the brainwashing effect of the Red Skull Pins, so Kitaniji crushes the Player Pin that he gave Neku. However, Neku still has the Player Pin that Joshua gave him, and so Kitaniji's plan to neutralize Neku is foiled, allowing Neku to defeat Kitaniji and win the Game. --Marshmello 22:21, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
