Talk:Noise List
From The World Ends With You
I believe the listed location for noise number 52 is incorrect. I looked and it's not there. It's a bit frustrating, as that's the only one I'm missing from my report. Anybody know where it really is?
PurpleSquerkle 01:18, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Never mind; I tried again and it was there. Maybe it just isn't there all the time.

[edit] Chaoti Corehog, noise 38
Does anyone know if this can be found in noise form? At the moment, I can only fight it in a story event which means no chaining, which means getting its Ultimate drop is really difficult. WK016 05:57, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- As I recall, it shows up paired with the Wall of Grizzly in Days 6 and 7 of Week 2. Tessara 20:01, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I found it in Week 2, Day 6 paired with a Eurobeat Boomer (41) at Scramble Crossing. Thanks. WK016 07:10, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Drop Rates
While the percentages are all well and good and easy to transcribe, I think a more useful set of information here would be the number of stars needed to get a 100% drop. It's not very useful to me to know that I have a 0.13% chance of getting Black Mars as a default drop from a Goth Metal Drake; it's much easy to know that I need to leveldrop/chain enough to get 770 stars if I want to be perfectly sure I'm going to get it.
This might take a bit, but shouldn't be too hard. I'll do it myself after I'm done updating the Pin chart if (a) anyone else thinks this is a good idea, (2) no-one else does it, and (d) it won't screw up the table too much. Tessara 21:28, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
True, but at the same time, you may not want to go for 100% drop rate. Especially for some of the bosses on Ultimate difficulty, you may be better off trying your luck with say, 75% drop rate or something in order to give yourself a nice HP cushion (because the drop rate is 0 if you die ;). Though either way, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to include this information so long as the normal drop rates are perserved. --WarlockSoL 15:24, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
I can try to help, I've got a lot of time and Sho Minamoto's brain. It's a good idea besides.

Well, as nobody has done this yet, I'm going to start working on it.

Aaaand done in under an hour. (Who's got Minamimoto's brain? :P)

Thanks a ton! I've been making big use of those numbers!

[edit] Noise pics?
Has anyone with access to the game files considered ripping some pictures of the noise for the list? It'd work well with the smaller noise, e.g. frogs, ravens, but I'm not sure if bosses would work too well. Just my two cents. Lewa Arkhan(Talk) 12:36, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Okay looks like Skorch has uploaded a heap of noise sprites... anyone got ideas on if/how to add them to this list? Lewa Arkhan(Talk) 12:36, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Hey, guys, I added Pics. how does it look? PZsquared 21:26, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- Looks great, thanks. Do you think we could make an alt. page without images, like there is for the pins page? I like printing out the lists, and the extra column would mess up my printer. :) (If it's too much trouble, don't bother, obviously; I don't think it's too pressing.) Thanks, regardless! Loony bat 03:03, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, that might be a good idea. Some of them are a little big, so it's a shame we don't have the smaller icons from the noise menu screen. Otherwise I'm wondering if it might have been better to put the name before the picture, to help in finding the one you want. Silktail 00:50, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Do noise appear in multiple days?
Noise #4, Brassbanfrog, appears in Another Day in, at least, the Station Underpass. That's not what's listed, and I don't want to just delete what's there.
We should just delete the Noise Locations from the Noise List altogether. We only need the Noise Location article. BlitzerRyuusei 22:11, 9 August 2008 (UTC)BlitzerRyuusei
- Although tempting, since it does would otherwise need a near impossible update. I personally don't think it's a good idea to remove those locations, it makes it so much harder to find a rare pin from a rare enemy. I guess the "best locations" might be a better alternative, but that's suffers from opinions over facts. Silktail 01:28, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
- I think the current list is really meant to be a list of where the Noise is first found. As such, it works pretty well, with only two current mistakes that I have noticed (Happycore Bat and Decadraven, though Reaper Beat could use the Blue Noise/Boss distinction the other bosses have). And yes, I have found this list useful as well. It is easier than searching for the Noise you want on the Locations page. I do think that adding every day and location for each Noise would be too much. Tau Ceti 02:17, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
- Reaper Beat: Yeah, I didn't actually finish those Blue Noise/Boss'es. I "had" to do Pinky & Lollipop because of the frequent changes back and forth. But it got too late by the time I had worked out the others in their section. (I also keep getting side-tracked and even now it's too late.) Silktail 03:08, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Noise 19
Is that supposed to be Happy Hardcore Bat? Noise 18 is Gabba Bat, so maybe the full music style name just didn't fit.
For reference: Gabba is for Gabber, a very fast dutch electronic music style. Happycore could be for Happy Hardcore, the ancestor of Gabber, a more melodic form.
[edit] Draco Cantus
I very much doubt it, but does anyone know a way to speed up getting the drops from him? As it stands it's
- (1) Play through all of Beat, Day 7 on Easy (done that)
- (2) Sit through ending and credits <zzz> (done that)
- (3) Play through all of Beat, Day 7 on Normal (doing it at time of writing)
- (4) Sit through ending and credits <zzz>
- (5) Play through all of Beat, Day 7 on Hard
- (6) Sit through ending and credits <zzz>
- (7) Play through all of Beat, Day 7 on Ultimate
- (8) Sit through ending and credits <zzz>
At least the drop rate need only be up to 20 (except on Normal, where for 100% it's 91), and if you save before fighting Anguis Cantus you can reload if it doesn't drop, but it's still a pain. Sorceror Nobody 15:02, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
- You can do it the same time you're getting Kitaniji's human and first noise form's drops, along with Konishi's. More drops for the same ZZZs. XienZo 15:05, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
- Fair point. Unfortunately I've already got that lot by using the oh-so-useful blue Noise symbols. At least I can do the playing through part on Easy or Normal to speed it up then set it to Hard/Ultimate before fighting Anguis/Draco... and the PP remains useful for mastering the Gatito sets. Ah well, it's good advice if I ever start the game anew for a third time (the current being my second save file). Sorceror Nobody 15:14, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Anyone know how to kill Noise 78?
Another Day: Pork City (13F)- This fight allows you to fusion, but it appears that the pig runs away very quickly and I can only manage one fusion within that time frame. I have changed some clothes that should allow me one fusion immediately at the start and hopefully i can squeeze in another and that should do it.
any suggestions, including pins to use?
S
- You mean 76, right? Since 78 is a reaper. Anyhow, I'd recommand simply using pins like Shiro or similar Lance Lunge Pins, since you can push back the pig indefinitely. Also, don't use finishers at the beginning if you can't kill it, but instead, use it JUST when the pig is about to escape, since a LVL2 fusions is normally stronger than 2 LVL1 fusions. XienZo 04:18, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Ragtime Drake
So I'm only finding this noise in Another Day: Spain Hill and Pork City...yet it's listed in several other places. I don't want to remove locations without asking first, has anyone else seen it in those places?
Miatog 15:52 5-13-09 (PST)
- Well I went to those other locations (Scramble Crossing, AMX, Shibu-Q Heads.) and fought noise until I found a Ragtime Drake. All of them had them, although I had to refresh the area to find some. I image the problem is that you don't always get the same noise when you enter an area and some might appear there rarely. Note: There are a few other locations in the Noise locations page. Silktail 01:02, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, ok, thanks. Yeah I tried a few times and didn't find them...guess the RNG just wasn't being nice to me. Won't touch the page then since I have confirmation. Miatog 13:44 5-14-09 (PST)
