From The World Ends With You
Hello there. I was just passing by and wished to comment upon the question "Why Shibuya?". Well, actually Shibuya is kinda how the game portraits it - A huge crowd of fashion young ppl (With lotsa cash too =O). Not all of Japan is like that btw... When I went to Japan for work I didn't go to Shibuya (Chose Akihabara instead X_X), but if u search a little on the web (Japan-guide.com is a great start) u'll see that it is quite an unique place.201.68.31.19 03:25, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Heya, I just want to confirm that the extra pin slot from Import Stylings at Shibuya Main Store can be bought on the 3rd day of Week 2.
I would like to point out that in the why the weird designer names portion the original poster failed to mention that the cat was originally supposed to be in the zodiac according to Chinese mythology, but was tricked out of his place by the rat. Therefore all the designers are actually based off of the zodiac. 76.23.107.186 13:51, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Food for thought for everyone saying the brands correspond to the chinese zodiac: the "Pavo Real" brand can be traced back to a peacock. Pavo is part of the Latin designation(see Wikipedia). Make Pavo Real brand #1 in TenFour(104) and you'll see peacocks in the Pavo Real banner in the air. There is no mention of a peacock in the Chinese zodiac as far as I know, there is a rooster however. I'd like to mention that the 'Jelly' pin (#282) is unbelievably powerful against clumped-up Noise. It hits very rapidly, locking enemies in place; it also racks up huge combos on the Hit meter (100+ with four Noise), which allows for at least x1.4 on the Special multiplier.
[edit] Helpful Hints
First off, people constantly ask how to use big bang/ all Gatito brand pins, so I think the FAQ should address this.
Second, I found it very useful in post-game to discover the best area to farm money and 5 Yen pieces. In Beat (chapter 3) Day 3, in front of the AMX building, about 15-18 frog symbols hover around. If you chain ten of them on ultimate, you are likely to receive 99 Sprog pins that you can sell for ¥5,550 apiece, as well as ~20 ¥10,000 pieces. If you try the same battles on Easy, you can rake in those hard-to-find ¥5 pieces, which are very useful in post-game quest items.

[edit] Gatito brand pins
All Gatito pins are parts of sets. This excludes the Gatito brand pin, Red skull and the healing pin.
Big Bang/Big Crunch- fire off a beam that travels the length of the area.
Jump/Skip/Hop/Step/Door of Eden- Neku in invincible when holding the puck, puck damage multiplier is x5 from the start. Make sure to lock all pins out side of battle after you have the form you need. Otherwise they will level all over again in a loop.
Black Mars/Jupiter/Uranus/Venus/Saturn- a large set that is very difficult to acquire. Each pin can be used individually. However together you get a damage boost.
Brainy/Lefty/Righty Cat- When combined you have a large boost in reboot time.
Swift as the Wind/Hushed as the Wood/Fierce as the Flame/Stalwart as the Mount- The pins will float around the screen, touch it and a pulse will damage anything in the path. You can press start to pause and relocate the pins.
- Not sure if this is worth mentioning in the FAQ... but since Square went with the Zodiac theme, and Gatito means "kitten", is it worth mentioning the Japanese fable/fairy tale? Those who read Fruit's Basket know what I mean (and others as well, of course)- the one about how the cat isn't an animal of the Zodiac because it was tricked by the rat and all that? We could but something like "...which are unaffected by trends. The name is a reference to the legend of the Chinese Zodiac, in which the cat missed becoming a sign by accident." 12.210.80.126 07:07, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] does evolving is the same as mastering that pin?
from gbatemp forum -link-
Q = if i want to master all the pin, do i have to master the pin that evolve too, meaning i have to force master the pin using the wrong methods. or evolving the pin meaning i will have 2 mastery on two pin automatically?
A = you have to master each and every pin INDIVIDUALLY. if you master ice risers (evolution of ice blow) that only counts as one mastered pin. so yeah, you will have to force master it using non-evolution methods.

[edit] typo
In secret report section, Chapter 2, The boss noise is in tipsy tos hall on the left side. Not the park. 69.231.39.142 09:41, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Boss Symbol mistake
On Chapter 2, Day 2, the Boss Noise is on the left side of Tipsy Tose Hall, not Mayashita Park. Chapter 2, Day 3 is when the Boss Noise is at the middle of Miyashita Park.
- And "Chapter 2, Day 3" is instead "Chapter 3, Day 3" -the_hoodie 17:54, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Chinese Zodiac/Designer names
I believe that it is worth mentioning that the cat actually plays part in the origins of the Chinese Zodiac, depending on which version you listen to. Here is a link to Wikipedia that talks about it. Anyone who has watched Fruits Basket would know. (Hm...just realized that 12.210.80.126 mentioned this back in 23 May as well.)
[edit] Last extra pin slot
Is in day 5, 6, or 7 on week 2.
- (S)_Extra_Slot says the bought ones are from days 3 and 5 of week 2. Silktail 21:54, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Rare pins
The "Where to get rare materials" section should link to Farming.
- Unfortunately this is an actual FAQ writen by someone, rather than a page of the wiki. Which is why it doesn't have any links (and why it's protected.) Silktail 04:20, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Defense up and Attack up
These don't exist, right? XienZo 03:52, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Well not as a status effect represented on the screen, no. (There are only Attack & Defense Break with arrows down.) Silktail 17:03, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Guessing the right card with Shiki
You get +2 fusion for guessing the card on the first try, not getting more than one in a row.
[edit] on the last question...
the cat was tricked by rat in the jade emporors race to be on the zodiac and thus didn't make it, however he is still the only other animal mentioned it the fable. and as an aside does any one realize that it isn't in the correct order of the zodiac? 99.135.15.191 17:42, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
