Lance Lunge
From The World Ends With You
Lance Lunge is a positive psych found on four pins. It is activated by touching an enemy. Neku will move in and thrust the targeted enemy, knocking it back a good distance. Note that it is possible for Neku to miss if he does not auto-align himself correctly or if the enemy moves before the thrust is complete. Lance Lunge pins are categorized under B class.
[edit] Analysis
Lance Lunge is best suited as a puck passer. At 80%, it is tied for fourth in efficiency among positive psychs after Massive Hit, Summon Rhyme, and Vortex Saber, and is faster than all of them. It is comparable to its vertical sibling, Grave Marker. Lance Lunge's drawback is that it only hits one target unless enemies are aligned very well, but it is still a capable psych when superior psychs are unavailable. For puck passing, it is probably the best main game positive psych.
[edit] Nikkari vs. Mikazuki
Nikkari has two uses, but with less ATK and slow reboot, Mikazuki comes out as the superior pin. A reboot time of two seconds is short enough so that Mikazuki is available whenever Neku has the puck.
[edit] Mikazuki vs. Shiro
Mikazuki has significantly less power and uses, but has the fastest reboot time. Shiro may be more powerful in a variety of situations, but unless it is obtained via a mingle shop, it arrives far too late (week 3, day 6) in the maingame to be of any use. Mikazuki can be obtained as early as week 2, day 2.
[edit] Lance Lunge vs. Grave Marker
Both are good puck passes for late main game. However, Fly/Fresh Line (the first grave marker pins available) can't be obtained until week 3 day 4. Grave Marker avoids the issues of large objects getting in the way (namely cars). Fresh Line has a higher ATK, but longer reboot time.
[edit] Lance Lunge vs. Vortex Saber
Vortex Saber pins, such as Lightning Anger, have more ATK and higher efficiency. Their damage output and area effect more than counters the slower activation time, so it is suggested that they be used as the puck passers once they are available. However, with the exception of Mitama (which requires circle drawing instead of mic blowing), which is can be obtained late into the 3rd week, all the other vortex saber pins are post game.
[edit] Lance Lunge vs. Summon Rhyme
Rhyme is fairer comparison than Vortex Saber, since both Lance Lunge and Summon Rhyme only hit one target. Rhyme takes a bit of time to attack the enemy, but makes up for it with massive efficiency and additional uses. Once Rhyme is available, there should be no reason to keep Lance Lunge in the deck.
