Each pin is categorized in one of 6 classes: Angel, Reaper, A, B, C, and --- (in descending order). Generally, pins with stronger or more useful psychs will have a higher class, although there are notable exceptions.

Angel class pins include mainly negative and support pins. All Subconscious pins and many negative Noise pins are of this class. Reaper class pins include mostly damage-based Noise pins and other damage-based pins, as well as Sweeper, Black Hole, and Grandmother Lode Psychs. All Noise pins are classified as Angel or Reaper class pins. Yen pins, material pins, Eden set pins, and Irregular note pins lack classes and are described in their in-game pin description as "---".

Classes exist to prevent you from using too many powerful psychs in your deck at the same time. Limitations include:

• No more than one Angel class pin can be in a deck at any given time.
• No more than one Reaper class pin can be in a deck at any given time.
• No more than one A class pin with a given psych can be in a deck at any given time.
• No more than two B class pins with a given psych can be in a deck at any given time.
• No more than three C class pins with a given psych can be in a deck at any given time.
• Any amount of --- class pins can be in a deck at any given time.
